  • WASD → Move. Progress the encounter through a chosen step.
  • Mouse movement → Aim. Inspect the target before firing.
  • Left-click → Shoot. Commit the aligned shot.

High Score Tips

  • Identify the firing line a step will open before taking it.

About Super Hot

Super Hot is the browser prototype built around a gunfight whose pace follows movement. You see the encounter in first person, choose a position, and fire with limited ammunition. A step is useful when it creates a shot or avoids an attack, but it also develops the danger around you.

That connection makes target access more important than continuous motion. Read the scene while it is slow, decide which enemy can be engaged from the next position, and use the smallest movement that establishes that line. The prototype should be judged through its own compact controls rather than the equipment, story, or levels of the later commercial releases.

Super Hot gameplay

How to Play Super Hot

Defeat the enemies in the encounter while using movement and ammunition deliberately.

  1. Identify the visible attackers and a firing angle that exposes one of them.
  2. Use WASD to make the planned adjustment without extending it unnecessarily.
  3. Aim with the mouse and left-click when the target is aligned.
  4. Check the result and remaining threats before taking another step or spending another round.

Controls & Timing

Movement changes two things

A step changes your position and advances the encounter. Consider both the shot it creates and the attacks it allows to develop.

A miss spends an option

Limited ammunition makes a repeated uncertain shot costly. Identify whether the problem was alignment or position before firing again.

Controls

WASDMoveCreate a firing angle or leave an attack path.
Mouse movementAimInspect and align the selected target.
Left mouse buttonShootUse a round on the prepared shot.

High Score Tips

  1. Choose the destination first. A planned endpoint gives a movement a reason; walking while still searching for a target advances danger without establishing a useful shot.
  2. Inspect another attacker before the next step. The selected target may be exposed while a second enemy gains a line toward you. Include both in the movement decision.
  3. Correct position and aim separately. Move if scenery blocks the line; adjust the mouse if the line is clear but the crosshair is off. Do not spend another round before diagnosing the difference.
  4. Stop extending a solved approach. Once the target is accessible, reassess the shot. Another step may progress the fight without providing another benefit.

Key Features

  • Prototype encounter: A compact browser version of the movement-linked concept.
  • Limited ammunition: Each uncertain shot reduces the options left.
  • First-person sightlines: Position determines which target is accessible.
  • Short movement decisions: A small adjustment can change the next exchange.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this describe the full commercial SUPERHOT?

This guide covers the browser prototype. The full commercial releases and their VR interactions have separate controls and are outside its scope.

Why can another small step be risky?

The movement advances the surrounding encounter as well as your position. Compare the new sightline with the attacks that can develop during it.

What should I do after a missed shot?

Determine whether the target was obstructed or merely misaligned. Correct that specific problem before spending another round on the same uncertain setup.

Should I keep walking while choosing a target?

Choose a useful destination first. Unplanned movement can advance several threats before you have decided which angle the next shot needs.
